 Why we think this website is attractive because this website follows some of  the condition stated in 10 Usability Heuristics for User Interface

1. Match between system and the real world

•  The words,phrases and concept of this website are very familiar to user.It follow the real world conventions, making information appear in a natural and logical order

          Aesthetic and minimalist design

• This website do not contain information which is irrelevent or rarely needed. Every extra unit of information in a dialogue competes with the relevant units of information and diminishes their relative visibility

          Recognition rather than recall

• In this website minimize user's memory load by making button and option visible.The user should not have to remember information from one part of the dialogue to another

   Flexibility and efficiency of use

• This website may often speed up the interaction for the expert user such that the system can cater to both inexperienced and experienced users. Allow users to tailor frequent actions. Very fast to load.

Last but not least,we think this website is very simple and easy to handle and understand.We also want all the lover readers to experience themselves this website and feel the enjoyable moments.

Lab 2 : Unappealing Website

Hi, today we will continue with another task which is appealing and unappealing website. The example of unappealing website is  http://www.davesems.com/

In my opinion, the website is unappealing  because of its' poor interface design, poor link and disorganized content.

1. Poor Interface - have poor choice of font typeface as well as sizing. Making the font size too small will make it harder for some people to read the text, so the font size you use must be a balance between large and small. Beside that, the website have a busy, distracting backgrounds that make the text hard to read. The header contain meaningless and useless graphics make its slow to load.
2. Poor Link - Links that are not clear about where they will take you.
3. Disorganized Content- all content in one page. the website should separate the content depends on their categories, so this will make easy for user to find what they want. Example, 'about us' is a story  behind the company and its' background, contact us is page that provide user that come with inquiries or feedback.

There  are several things that can be done to improve the website appearance such as create menu navigator for each category. The website should remove the animation on its header and replace it with another banner that can attract user's eyes. Using a static image will help page to load faster. Beside that, the website should use a standard font type and size to create nice appearance. 

It is hard for me to encourage other user to surf this website as it is not a user friendly. It should has Share Application such as Facebook, Twitter or email to promote it easily.

Assalamualaikum and Hi to all readers..

For this semester we have take subject BIW20303 (Web Design) and we were asked to discuss about one website so,we chose Baskin Robins`s website .

The purpose of this site was develop is one of the way how the company promotes their product.Their customers do not need to go to their kiosk to look at their menus or updated flavors,but they can check all in by online.It makes their costumers become more easier.In addition,with this website,this product not only known in this country but also all around the world.

Since,this ice cream get warm responses from all level of ages from youngster to oldest,single and couple,bachelor and married so,this website is open to all customers and this website also easy to manage and do not need a lot effort to use it.Beside that,this website also develop for overseas customers.If they are in other country,they can also open this website to check all the flavors update and just buy the ice cream in that country since the Baskin Robbins’s ice cream is sell in all country .

Apart from that,we think that the website reaches its intended audience.This is because the website have many advantages which are attractive ,in order and simple.All the ice cream are categorize in separately followed by their menus.This is easy to their customer to makes their choice and at the bottom of their menus have stated their price.As we informed before,this website also can be use by children ,so,this company using attractive and colorful to attract them since the children love the way it is.

Beside that,this website  very useful to us .This is because  we like to eat this ice cream very much.So, we always want to know the updated flavors that the company offers.Sometimes,by this site also Baskin Robin will offer discount to their customers and also have contest and the reward will be free Baskin Robbins's ice cream.By that,the viewer will be increase time by time.

Lastly,the website very user friendly and easy to manage .Not to forget their slogan”Magical moment in life” and we strongly encourage to all of you to check it out on this website yooo!!!

Di pagi yang hening ini, dengan limpah kurnia dan hidayahnya kami, Nurul Syuhadah bt Mohamad dan Sharifah Nurain bt Syed Kamarudzaman telah diberi tugasan untuk subjek Biw 20303 (Reka Bentuk Web).
